PURPOSE:To distinctly and accurately transfer an image on a transfer material without the change of hue by executing the processing of correcting the deviation in position in a specified timing in dependent of an image formation sequence. CONSTITUTION:A controller 15 is also used as a correction means. It detects the deviation in position of the image in respective image forming stations while comparing the resist mark image data of each color outputted from mark detectors 11 and 12 with reference resist mark image data stored in a ROM 15b so as to arithmetically process the quantity of correcting the deviation in position peculiar to the respective image forming stations. The processing of correcting the deviation in position in accordance with the quantity of correcting the deviation in position is executed by controlling the specified timing independent of the image sequence in the respective image forming stations, the driving timing of an actuator and the adjustment start timing of a top margin and a left margin. Thus, the image sequence can be always started in a state where the deviation in position of the image is corrected and the distinct color image with a good hue can be formed. |
