Pipe clamp comprising a support provided with an opening for accommodating the pipe. At least two clamps which are located opposite one another with respect to the opening are arranged in the support. Each clamp comprises a clamping block and a clamping jaw which is displaceable with respect to the block. The interface between the clamp-supporting component and the clamping block slopes at an angle of 10-20 degree with respect to the longitudinal axis of the opening, in order to grip the pipe by wedging it securely in place. Selecting this angle makes the clamping block self-releasing with respect to the clamp- supporting component. To ensure that the clamping blocks press against the pipe, pressure-exerting means are provided.
