PURPOSE: To form a canopy seal by providing a compressible resilient core with one vertical leg, a horizontal base member, a second vertical member, and a low-density polymer stress reinforcing belt-shaped member, and partially coating the core and the reinforcing belt-shaped member with an electrically conductive polymeric tape. CONSTITUTION: A canopy seal 10 has a compressible core 1 made of silicone rubber. The core 1, which has two vertical legs, an outside leg 3 and an inside leg 5, and a horizontal base member 7 connected thereto, forms a U-shaped passage. A low-density belt-shaped polymeric tape 9 is bonded by an adhesive agent at an upper section of one line of a hole 15 at an inside edge of the inside leg 5 of the core 1. A low-density electrically conductive polymeric tape 11 covers both surfaces and tops of the legs 3, 5, the stress reinforcing belt- shaped member 9 and a bottom surface of the base member 7, and partially covers the core 1 in a capsule shape to be bonded by the adhesive agent. The canopy seal can properly fit to frames of a present airplane.
