PURPOSE: To eliminate the occurrence of the accumulation of metallic cutting chips in a range of a guide rail by covering an upper surface of a stepped through hole with a strip-shaped covering member extending over the total length of the guide rail, and arranging a bearing along a longitudinal side surface of the guide rail. CONSTITUTION: A strip-shaped cover plate 30 is fitted in a longitudinal groove 21 on an upper surface of a stepped through hole 20. While a longitudinal directional main bearing 12 acts on a longitudinal side surface 24 of a guide rail 13, an upper surface 25 of the guide rail 13 checks the introduction of energy. The longitudinal directional main bearing 12 has a recessed part 26 formed in a reciprocating stand 11 and a complementary longitudinal groove 27 formed on the longitudinal side surface 24 of the guide rail 13. A sphere 28 is fitted in the recessed part 26 of the reciprocating stand 11, and while, since the sphere 28 also engages with the inside of a longitudinal groove 27 of the guide rail 13, the reciprocating stand 11 can travel along the guide rail 13 in the longitudinal direction, that is, the direction of the axis 16. When a spindle stock 10 reciprocates, metallic cutting chips slidingly moved on a guide rail 13 surface are removed by the plate 30. |
