The invention relates to a universal bicycle carrier intended to be fixed to the ball-shaped towing hook of a motor vehicle. The bicycle carrier 4 includes a frame for supporting the frame of the bicycle 3 and it also comprises removable locking means which apply to the towing hook 1 of the vehicle 2. These locking means are in the form of a sleeve slipped over the ball and which includes clamping members for rotationally blocking and immobilising the said sleeve around the ball. The locking means apply regardless of the type of ball-type towing hook encountered. The invention is of interest to the manufacturers of car accessories. <IMAGE>
