PURPOSE:To prevent double printing, blank printing, etc., and obtain the effective activity of paper by providing a detection mechanism to detect whether paper on the inlet of a printing part is available and also a function to set the printing part in such a manner that said part i printable or non-printable using the signal of the detection mechanism. CONSTITUTION:Paper 7 sent from roll paper 3 advances to an arrow direction A, passing between detection mechanisms 11, 12 on the inlet side of a printing part 4. A detection signal to indicate the loading of the paper during its passage is transmitted to a control part. The control part sends a command signal to the printing part 4, and the printing part 4 prints the paper 7 between a printing head 5 and a platen 6 by designation of a printable state, and the paper is sent out of the cutlet 13 of a portable terminal device 1. In the meantime, when paper 7 runs out and its terminal comes between the detection mechanisms 11, 12, a detection signal to indicate the unloading of the paper is sent to the control part, suspending a printing action. Subsequently, it is possible to perform a printing action immediately before the complete consumption of the paper. Thus the paper 7 can be usefully consumed and faults such as blank printing be prevented. |
