This device comprises essentially an armour-plating element formed by a sheet of metal P built into the door and one edge 1 of which has parts 3 folded in a plane approximately perpendicular to the plane of the door while this edge 1 is fitted to a sheet-metal strip 4 having hollow parts 6 to which hinges 10 are fixed and projecting parts 7 forming a fixing base for a section 5. The strip 4 extends in a plane parallel to the folded parts 3 of the sheet of metal P. This device is applicable for example to doors in buildings where it is wished to reinforce considerably the rear vertical part hinged to the frame. <IMAGE>
