<p>The invention relates to a cyclone separator having a filter unit (20) which is disposed inside a central outlet (19) between the inlet chamber of the cyclone separator for gas mixed with dust, and the outlet chamber thereof for cleaned gas, connected to a suction source. The invention relates to a method for cleaning such a cyclone separator by establishing momentarily a connection between the outlet chamber and the atmosphere, the communication between the inlet chamber and the suction source being maintained, to initiate a rapid pressure rise in the outlet chamber and thus a reversed gas flow through the filter unit, and also to a cyclone separator of the kind referred to for practising the method, wherein the outlet chamber has a valve controlled aperture (30) for connecting the outlet chamber to the atmosphere, the closure member of the valve being biaised to a closed position by existing pressure difference between the outlet chamber and the atmosphere.</p> |
