A device for the laying of a thread (31) on a cross-wound bobbin (30) at a multiplicity of winding stations (3) operated next to one another consists respectively of a thread guide (10) and a traversing element for connecting the thread guide (10) to a drive unit. Separate constructional elements (11, 12, 13) are provided for transmitting the acceleration forces and the path-guiding forces of the thread guide (10). In an advantageous version, the constructional element (11, 12) transmitting acceleration forces transmits only tensile forces. <IMAGE>
