<p>Thermostat means for an engine cooling system comprising a housing (5) having a through passage (7) for a coolant and a thermostatic valve (4) arranged to control the flow of coolant through the passage (7), the thermostatic valve (4) being mounted in a recess (12) extending around one end of the through passage (7). The thermostatic valve (4) comprises an expansible member carrying a valve member, the valve member being cooperable with a valve seat provided in a peripheral flange (11) by which the thermostat is mounted in the recess (12) in the passage (7). Resilient sealing means (14) are provided and which are so shaped as to be a snap fit in the recess (12) in the passage (7), whereby the thermostat is releasably sealed and retained in the housing (5). <IMAGE></p> |
