A document processing device for simple preparation of a table is described. It has: an input device for input of data which correspond to the number of unbroken lines to be displayed, a position output device to display a position on a display screen, a display, which can display a grid or grid points on the display screen at regular intervals, a computing device to determine a line interval of several unbroken lines arithmetically on the basis of the numeric data which is input via the input device, and the position which is output by the position output device, and a display control unit to control the display, in such a way that the unbroken lines are displayed at regular intervals corresponding to the display positions of the grid points, on the basis of the result of the computation using the computing device and an interval between the grid points. Using the device, unbroken lines can be drawn or prepared by simple steps, without affecting the other cells or lines.
