A duo-roll continuous casting installation comprises two cooling rolls, which are arranged opposite one another and parallel to one another. Metal melt is fed to a gap between the cooling rolls and drawn through the gap as a sheet slab while it is cooled by the cooling rolls and solidifies. Each cooling roll has a cooling-fluid passage (1) for cooling a surface with which the roll comes into contact with the melt. A pressure chamber (3) for pressurising the entire contact surface with hydraulic pressure via the fluid passage is provided in the cooling roll separately from the cooling-fluid passage for the purpose of influencing the roll configuration. <IMAGE>
