A security door assembly comprising a panel (1) having inner and outer sides, at least two fastening members (4) fastened to extend from the inner side of the panel, the fastening members presenting free edges (5) facing in the same direction and mounting means comprising at least two first mounting members and at least two second mounting members, the second mounting members (6) each being so interconnected to a first mounting member (7) that an entrance surround of a building can be clamped between the first (7) and second (6) mounting members, the second mounting members (6) having a free edge (10) which can interengage with that (5) of an associated fastening member (4) secured to the inside of the panel (1), the second mounting members (6) and the fastening members (4) being hingedly interconnected by double pivot hinges (12) which permit the panel (1) to move in a direction within its main plane normal to the free edges (5) of the fastening members (4) secured to the inside of the panel (1), whereby, when assembled and fitted, the panel (1) can be moved between a first position where the panel (1) can be swung open and closed and a second position where the closed panel (1) is prevented from being swung open by said interengagement of said free edges (5, 10) and the panel (1) carrying locking means (14, 17) operable from outside the panel (1) for retaining the panel (1) in the second position against unauthorised entry. |
