<p>The transmission comprises a clutch (10), a gearbox (12), a drive shaft (24) extending between the clutch and the gearbox and an electrically operable clutch release mechanism (14) between the clutch and the gearbox. The clutch release mechanism comprises a clutch release bearing (38), an electric motor (34) and a clutch release transmission (36). The clutch release transmission is operable by rotation of an armature (58) of the motor so as to move a release member (72) of the release transmission axially. Such axial movement moves the clutch release bearing axially to engage and disengage the clutch.</p> |
