Biological sewage treatment basin

The biological treatment of a liq. by aeration takes place in an elongated oval basin with a vertical partition across part of the centre line. a vertical shaft with paddles in line with the partition produced a circulation of the liq. from inlet pipe to outlet overflow. Air nozzles in the area downstream of the paddle-shaft provide the aeration. The slow speed of the paddle-shaft prevents any spatter of the liq. Its drive is accessible and requires only a lightweight support structure.
