<p>Tetrahydropyridien derivs. of formula (I) are new where R1 = 1-18C alkyl; 1-9C alkyl substd. by an OH, NH2, 1-9C alkoxy, 2-9C alkenyloxy, 1-9C alkanoyl, (1-9C)alkoxycarbonyl, carbamoyl, (1-6C alkyl)carbamoyl or phenyl; 2-18C alkenyl; 2-9C alkenyl substd. by an OH, NH2; etc. 2-18C alkynyl; phenyl; phenyl or benzylk ring-substd. by a 1-12C alkyl, 1-12C alkoxy, 2-12C alkenyloxy, 1-12C alkylamino, di(1-6C alkyl)amino, (1-12C)alkoxycrbonyl or 1-12C alkanoyl; 5-7C cycloalkyl or 5-7C cycloalkenyl both opt. substd.; polymers of one or more of ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, styrene and 2-4C alkanes and derivs. of the polymes; or R1 and R2 together = (CR7R8)M-; m = 2 or 3; each R7, R8 = H or 1-6C alkyl; R3 = a value of R1 except for Me or 1-9C hydroxyalkyl, and may also be (1-9C alkoxy)carbomyl; benzoyl (opt. substd. as for phenyl in R1); phenyl, benzyl or benzoyl also substd. by OH, NH2 or 2-12C alkenyl; 1-18C alkanoyl; 2-9C alkanoyl substd. by an OH, NH2, 1-9C alkoxy, 2-9C alkenyloxy, 1-9C alkanoyl, carbamoyl, (1-6C alkyl)carbamoyl, (1-9C)alkoxycarbomyl or phenyl; or -OROROR9; each R = 2-6C hydrocarbylene; R9 = 1-6C alkyl, 2-6C alkenyl, phenyl, benzyl, (1-6C)alkylphenyl or (1-6C)alkylbenzyl; R2 = H, 1-6C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy or is combined with R1 as above; R4 = 1-6C alkyl or 1-6C alkoxy; n = 0 or 1-4; R5,R6 = H, 1-6C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy or 1-10C alkanoyl (opt. substd. by carboxyl or (1-6C)alkoxycarbonyl); or R5,R6 together = -CO-(CR10R11)q-CO-; q = 2 or 3; each R10,R11 = H or 1-8C alkyl; with the proviso that when R1 = Me, then R3 is not hydroxyethyl, methoxymethyl or benzyl. Sunscreen compsn. comprising cpd(s). (I) without proviso as effective component are also claimed.</p> |
