PURPOSE:To increase the reliability by composing a switch with a luminous element, a projection member to project the incident light from the luminous element as a transmitted light or a reflected light responding to the digital code pattern, a light receiving element, and a switch to set responding to a desired digital code. CONSTITUTION:The peripheral surface of a drum D1 is formed of an unreflecting substance. Digital code patterns CP1, CP2, and CP3 are formed of a reflecting substance. On the peripheral surface of the drum D1, phototransistors PT1, PT2, and PT3, and luminous diodes LED1, LED2, and LED3 are furnished responding to the digital code patterns CP1, CP2, and CP3 respectively. The drum D1 is linked to an operation knob 2 through a shaft 5. When the operation knob 2 is rotated, and the code pattern CP3, and PT3 and LED3 are opposed, for example, responding to the rotation, the light incident to the drum D1 from LED3 is projected from the code pattern CP3 to PT3 as a reflection light. Since there is no mechanical contact in such a composition, the reliability can be increased. |
