<p>An improved security system to prevent unauthorised entry to a motor vehicle or the like, the system comprising remotely operable locking means (30, 31, 32, 33, 34) mounted in association with each vehicle door and constructed so that virtual destruction of the door is required to effect unauthorised entry when the system is in operation. In a particular form longitudinally, axially moving bolts move between the car body and an edge surface of the closed door or vice versa in order to secure the door. In an enhanced form movement detection means is provided to detect movement of humans or animals within the car interior in order to prevent actuation of the system while a person/animal is within the interior. This same system is also used to cause an alarm condition if movement of a person/animal is detected within the interior when the locking system is operational.</p> |
