PURPOSE:To accomplish excellent development by imparting a developer carrier means developing with a developer carrying an electrostatic latent image on its surface and a developer layer forming means possessing longitudinal sides of different length whose surfaces developer layers are formed on. CONSTITUTION:As a feeding screw 20 rotates, a toner (a) is supplied to a supply roller 18, and further supplied to the developing roller (developer carrier) 10. By the rotation of the roller 10, the elastic blade (developer layer forming means) 12 forms a layer on the roller 10 while regulating the quantity of the toner supplied from the roller 18. Although more toner is found backward the roller 18 than its forward, it can be uniformized and a uniform layer is formed on the roller 10, because the length of the back end of the blade 12 is 0.5-4.0mm shorter than that of the front end, so that pressure applied to the tip of blade 12 for the wedge-shaped toner enclosed with the roller 10, the tip of the blade 12 and the roller 18 is uniformized in layer. |
