A polyamino-polyamide polymer is prepd. by cross-linking a polyamino-polyamide obtd. by polycondensation of a cpd. from (1) dicarboxylic acids, (2) ethylenically unsatd. aliphatic mono- and dicarboxylic acids, (3) esters of these acids, and (4) mixts. of these cpds. with a bis prim. or mono- or di-sec. polyalkylene polyamine and 0-20 mol. % of this polyamine may be replaced by hexamethylenediamine and 0-40% may be replaced by a bis-prim. amine, pref. ethylenediamine, or a bis-sec. amine, pref. piperazine. Improvement comprises using as cross-linking agent either (A) bis halohydrins, bis azetidinium cpds., bis(haloacyl)diamines and bis alkylene halide type cpds., or (B) oligomers obtd. by reaction of cpds. (A), epihalohydrins, diepoxides, bis unsatd. derivs. with a cpd. bifunctionally reactive towards the cpds. or (C) the quaternisation product of a cpd. from the first named cpds. in (B), and oligomers (B) contg. tert. amino gps. with methyl- or ethyl chloride, bromide, iodide, sulphate, mesylate or tosylate; benzyl chloride or bromide; ethylene or propylene oxide or glycidal. The polymers in which 0.025-0.35 mol. cross-linking agent is used per amino gp. of the polyamino-polyamide are chemically stable and compatible with anionic surfactants.
|
