Pipe coupling construction - has enclosed housing for two packing rings of V=shaped cross=section

The coupling mechanism (1) includes a housing (4) for packing and pressure rings. The pipe coupling is enclosed by the housing, with a first outer wall section. Two flange type walls (6,7) have holes for bolts (21). The packing rings fit in the space between a wall and the pipe circumferences. When the bolts are screwed down the pressure rings are drawn into recesses of rubber packing rings which are then clamped against the pipe circumferences and the wall to form an effective seal.
