The invention relates to a skeleton for inserting into hollow trees undergoing tree surgery, for the purpose of stabilising and maintaining same. The object of the skeleton according to the invention is to relieve those cross-sectional regions of a hollow trunk which are loaded to the greatest extent by wind by using an elastic transition between the inserted skeleton and the tree-trunk walls. For this purpose, the invention makes provision, in accordance with Figure 1 represented in the drawing, for two horizontal rings 1, 2, whose mutual spacing and diameter are adapted to the tree cavity and can be inserted therein. In practice, the mutual spacing thereof corresponds to the height of the tree cavity. The rings are connected to four struts 3 which consist of a wire cable material and act on retaining means 4, 5 of the rings 1, 2. For this purpose, resilient elements 6 designed as rubber-metal vibration dampers are fastened on the retaining means. Between said resilient elements, the diagonally running struts 3 are inserted from ring 1 to ring 2, and said struts 3 are oriented with their fastening elements perpendicular to the attachment surfaces of the retaining means. Struts 3 can be braced between the rings 1 and 2 by means of threaded sleeves 13, which can be screwed onto the threaded pins 6', and are covered with hoses.
