NEW MATERIAL:An antibiotic substances SF2582A SF2582B having the following characteristics. Substance SF2582A; Appearance) yellowish orange amorphous powder. Melting point; 235-237 deg.C (decomposition). Molecular formula; C26H26N3 O8Cl. Specific rotatory power [alpha] =-51 deg. (C=0.2, methanol). Solubility; soluble in methanol, ethyl acetate, acetone, chloroform and dimethyl sulfoxide and insoluble in water and hexane. Color reaction; positive to 10% sulfuric acid, Lemieux's reagent, etc., and negative to ninhydrin reagent, etc. USE:An antimicrobial agent. PREPARATION:A microorganism [e.g., Streptomyces.sp. SF2582 (FERM P-9672)], belonging to the genus Streptomyces and capable of producing the substance SF2582A or SF2582B is cultivated at about 28 deg.C for 2-7days, preferably by a submerged culture method. |
