<p>The adjusting device for the seat of a motor vehicle has a plate (11) attached to the back (A), and a second plate (10) attached to the seat itself (b). The two plates are joined by a pivot pin (14). A bracket (22) has a captive sleeve fitted with a bevel gear wheel (26) at one end. This meshes with a second bevel gear on a hand knob (28). The sleeve has an internal thread at each end, of opposite hand. Screws engaging the sleeve have eyes at their free ends pivoted (16, 19) to the two plates. The device thus forms a turnbuckle. By turning the hand knob, the screws are moved together or apart to adjust the back angle.</p> |
