The cardboard is placed on a conveyor belt with the corrugations vertical and carried through a zone where it is sprayed with molten paraffin wax or similar until satd. Excess wax is removed in a drying zone, e.g. by blowing with air, and the cardboard then cooled to solidify the wax which gives increased rigidity and much better water resistance.
