Methods for making split-bearing assemblies by fracture-separation, particularly pertaining to engine-connecting rods, include steps wherein previously clamped body (21) and cap (25) portions are quickly forced apart longitudinally to cause fracture-separation of both pairs of integral legs (22,26,24,28) in a single motion whilst the cap (25) and body (21) are restrained from substantial relative rotation by clamp means (51,52) of a fracture-separation apparatus (50). |
