<p>The attenuator is intended for a collimated laser beam and is characterised in that it comprises a holographic dichromat-gelatine plate (4), which is arranged adjustably in a housing (3) such that the laser beam (1) is incident upon it at a virtually perpendicular angle of incidence, and a diaphragm (10 to 12), which is arranged behind the plate and has a central hole (11) for the free passage of the beam.
