PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body having high hardness and undergoing no deterioration by ozone by forming a surface protective layer on a substrate with an amorphous film composed of Si, H, C and O atoms. CONSTITUTION:When an org. photosensitive layer and a surface protective layer are laminated on an electrically conductive substrate to obtain a photosensitive body, the protective layer is formed with an amorphous film composed essentially of Si, H, C and O atoms. The amorphous film is formed by causing electric discharge in an atmosphere of gaseous siloxane represented by formula I (where R is optionally substd. alkyl or aryl and plural groups R may be different from each other). A photosensitive body having high hardness, superior durability and moisture resistance and undergoing no deterioration by ozone is obtd. without lowering the quality of an image. |
