摘要 PURPOSE:To recover the greater part of stored energy and to contrive effective utilization of the energy by a method wherein an auxiliary superconducting magnet, which is magnetically connected to a superconducting magnet and both ends are connected by a permanent current switch, is provided in the title device. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary superconducting magnet 6, having a permanent current switch 7, is magnetically coupled with a superconducting magnet 2 using a mutual inductance M. When the superconducting magnet 2 is quenched or a DC power source 1 is in trouble, a switch 3 is turned OFF and a permanent switch 7 is turned ON. As a result, the energy in the amount of E=E0K<2> out of the initial accumulation energy E=LI0<2>/2 of the superconducting magnet 2 is transferred to the auxiliary superconducting magnet 6. However, the self- inductance of the superconducting magnet 2 is set at 'L', a current is set at 'I0' and the coupling coefficient of the mutual inductance M is set at 'K'. An abnormal state is removed, the switch 3 is turned ON, and the permanent current switch 7 is turned OFF. Now, the energy of K<4>E0 returns to the superconducting magnet 2 from the auxiliary superconducting magnet 6.
