PURPOSE:To obtain a good coated film entirely free from foams by coating an article to be coated in the shape of a cylindrical hollow rotor with coating medium, etc., right after it, putting the article in a decompressed state and heating this article from the internal part. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder (an article to be coated) C is charged in a pressure vessel 1 and the cylinder C is revolved at a given speed as it is gripped by chucks 7, 8 at both ends. Heated gas HA is introduced into this revolving cylinder C, the cylinder C is heated from its inside and coating medium is sprayed from a nozzle 5 of a gun 4 to the cylinder C to apply the coating medium uniformly on the surface of the cylinder C. Then, on a vacuum piping 11 communicating with the pressure vessel 1 is opened, the degree of vacuum is lowered between 760Torr and 0.02Torr in the pressure vessel 1, the cylinder C is heated by heated air to a given temperature, the coated layer is dried and cured from the bottom part to the surface part to quickly vaporize and dry solent in the coated layer and to form a coated layer of uniform thickness free from residual foams in the cylinder C. |
