PURPOSE: To reduce output time between copies by driving a belt at a first speed during a toner image on a moving member matches with a copy sheet and at a second higher speed during they are not matched each other. CONSTITUTION: A photoconductive belt 10, while rotationally travels in the arrow 12 direction, forms electrostatic latent images with respective colors sequentially with art exposure station B, then forms toner images with respective colors with corresponding developing devices 44, 46, 48, 50, and moves to a transfer station D. On the contrary, a sheet fed from a feeding roller 77 rotationally circulation-travels with being grabbed by a gripper 64 of a rotationally traveling belt 56, is sequentially matched, overlapped, and transferred with toner images with respective colors by the transfer station D, and is discharged. The belt 56 moves the gripper 64 at the same speed as that of the photoconductive belt during a toner image matches with a copy sheet, and at a high speed during they are not matched each other, that is during a toner image is not transferred. Thus, copy efficiency can be improved and output time between copies is reduced. |
