PURPOSE:To improve the electrostatic chargeability and durability of a photosensitive body when an electric charge generating layer and an electric charge transferring layer are laminated on an electrically conductive substrate to obtain the photosensitive body by forming the electric charge generating layer with a vapor-deposited film of metal-free phthalocyanine having a crystal structure with X-ray diffraction peaks at specified positions. CONSTITUTION:When at least an electric charge generating layer 3 and an electric charge transferring layer 2 are laminated on an electrically conductive substrate 1 to obtain a photosensitive body, the electric charge generating layer 3 is formed with a vapor-deposited film of metal-free phthalocyanine having a crystal structure with X-ray diffraction peaks at the positions of at least 6.6 deg., 13.4 deg., 14.5 deg., 20.2 deg., 24.8 deg., 26.6 deg. and 27.2 deg. Bragg angle (2theta+ or -0.2 deg.). The pref. ionization potential of the vapor-deposited film is 4.9-5.5eV, especially 5.1-5.3eV. The pref. quantum yield of the film is 0.07-0.35, especially 0.1-0.25. The electrostatic chargeability and electric charge retentivity of the photosensitive body are improved. |
