<p>A stressed skin pitched roof is formed by one or more panels (10) each panel (10) having outer sheets or skins (14) and an expanded plastics material bonded or self-bonded to the sheets so that the foam provides structural strength. In one embodiment the panels (10) provide substantially the only structural components. In a second embodiment a comparatively small frame is bonded to the inner surface of opposed sheets (14) with a view to preventing relative motion between the sheets under prolonged and variable loading.</p> |
