PURPOSE:To reduce the error correction time by sending a color still picture data by one pattern while giving a block number and an error check code and allowing the reception side to apply error check in the unit of blocks. CONSTITUTION:The transmission format is formed to separate a luminance data Y and a color difference data C and a data YSi is one block of a luminance data, a CBi is one block of a color difference data. A synchronizing code F is given before and after each block data and BN, BM representing block number and CRC code FCS for error detection are provided.
