发明名称 FERROELECTRIC LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT
摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the irregularity of orientation and to obtain high uniform orientation and high quality without any postprocessing such as rubbing by using a Langmuir's Blodgett's film as an orientation control film. CONSTITUTION:A transparent electrode layer 12 is adhered on the surface of a substrate 11, an insulating film 13 is formed on its surface, and the orientation control film 14 which is formed by laminating >= monomolecular layer consisting principally of a compound forming a monomolecular film by being spread over a water surface is laminated on the surface of the insulating layer 13, thereby forming a liquid crystal support plate 10. Two support plates 10 are used, spacer seal resin 15 is fixed to the substantial peripheral edge parts of the surfaces of those orientation control films 14, and a ferroelectric liquid crystal material for display is injected into the range of the seal resin 15 in the confrontation interval between the couple of formed orientation control films 14, thereby forming a liquid crystal layer 16. Consequently, the element of high quality where the dielectric liquid crystal is oriented uniformly is obtained without any postprocessing.
