HEADER CONTROL SYSTEM FOR ATM COMMUNICATION

PURPOSE:To realize the efficient header control system by reducing the frequency in calculation of CRC on the transmission/reception side to reduce the processing volume on the transmission/reception side in the header control system for ATM communication where the header of AAL type 1 is used in the ATE network. CONSTITUTION:A cell transmission equipment 1 preliminarily stores the AAL header as a header table 3 and reads out its contents at the time of cell transmission and adds then to a cell to transmit it. A reception equipment 2 preliminarily stores the header of AAL type 1 to be received as a header table 6 and collates the header of AAL type 1 of the reception cell with contents of the header table 6 by a collating circuit 9 and detects the error in the case of non-coincidence. CRC operation and parity calculation are not performed at each time.
