The continuous kiln-drying air of single-tray kiln-dryers is divided into two partial streams before the crossflow heat exchanger (2), one of which partial streams heats the kiln-drying air in the crossflow heat exchanger (2), and the other partial stream is available as a heat source for a heat pump apparatus.
