The carriage is for a machine cutting letters etc out of a strip of material, having two bars of length roughly equal to the strip width. The first bar merely guides the cariage, while the second also guides it and controls the rotary knife in it. The carriage has two notches (12, 13) in the underside and of width corresponding to the bar diameter. Couplings are included to lock the carriage on one or both bars, so that it can be set aside on them and also removed from them. Thus several carriages can be mounted alongside each other and used as desired.
