PURPOSE:To improve speed change feeling by detecting the operating oil temperature of an automatic transmission, advancing the starting timing of shift up when the oil temperature is low, and making engine speed always constant at the time of the completion of shift up regardless of change in oil temperature. CONSTITUTION:A certain arithmetic processing is carried out based on the inputs of a select lever 8, an exhaust brake switch 9, switches 10-12 relating to acceleration, and a vehicle speed sensor 13 by a microcomputer 1, to control the operation of an automatic transmission 16 and an exhaust brake 17. The oil temperature of operating oil for operating an automatic transmission is detected by an oil temperature detector 14 and, when the oil temperature is low, speed change control is carried out so as to advance the starting timing of shift up. Hence, the engine speed at the time of completing shift up is a constant value corresponding to a throttle opening irrespective of change in oil temperature preventing engine speed from reaching the top speed while obtaining a favorable speed change feeling. |
