PURPOSE:To obtain a repaired or welded part having mechanical characteristics comparable to those of the parent metal by adding specified amts. of a rare earth element and one or more kinds of metals selected among metals belonging to the groups VIIa, VIII and Ib to Cr as a principal component to produce a filler metal used. CONSTITUTION:A filler metal is composed of 0.01-8wt.% one or more kinds of rare earth elements selected among Sc, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu, 0.01-5wt.% Nb and/or Ta, 0.01-8wt.% one or more kinds of metals selected among Mn, Re, Fe, Co, Ni, Ru, Rh, Pd, Os, Ir, Pt, Cu, Ag and Au belonging to the groups VIIa, VIII and Ib of the periodic table and the balance essentially Cr. When a parent metal is repaired or welded with the filler metal, a repaired or welded part having mechanical characteristics comparable to those of the parent metal can be obtd. |
