PURPOSE:To improve nonlinear characteristics, by expressing the chemical formula of a polycrystalline body, whose main ingredient is BaTiO3, in the form of AyBzO3, adjusting the composition of raw materials so that a mol ratio of y/z becomes specified relation, and baking the body at a specified baking temperature. CONSTITUTION:This element comprises a polycrystalline body, whose main ingredient is BaTiO3 when the body is baked. When the chemical formula of the body is expressed in the form of AyBzO3, raw material powders are adjusted so that the mol ratio y/z of A and B is expressed by the range of 1.007<=y/z<=1.03. A mineralizer comprising the oxides of Mn and Cr is added. The body is baked at baking temperature T of 1,400 deg.C<=T<=1.450 deg.C. A nonlinear dielectric element is formed in this way. Even if the baking is performed at the high temperature T of 1,400 deg.C<=T<=1,450 deg.C, the mineralizer such as the oxides of Mn and the like and kaolin can be sublimated with abnormal growth of grains being prevented. The nonlinear dielectric element having excellent nonlinear characteristics can be obtained. |
