PURPOSE:To make an injection device compact by mounting a denitrating agent injection nozzle on the upstream side of a silencer or the silencer itself and mixing NOx being emitted within the silencer with the denitrating agent. CONSTITUTION:NH3 is injected into exhaust gases being emitted from a diesel engine 1 through a NH3 injection nozzle 7 and, after mixing the same with NOx in a silencer 2, the mixture is sent to a denitration device 4 for denitration. The exhaust gases are subsequently introduced into a smokestack 6 through a heat emitting boiler 5. This eliminates the need for providing a mixer in the emission control system, thus making the device compact. The NH3 injection nozzle 7 may also be mounted in the silencer 2. |
