PURPOSE:To obtain a hair tonic promoting hair growth and hair production, preventing removal of hair, suppressing secretion of sebum, having no side effects, comprising a substance having a specific alpha,beta-unsaturated ketone structure or a purified oil consisting essentially of the substance as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:A hair tonic containing one or more (e.g., preferably pennyroyal oil, mountain mint oil or American wild mint oil containing 65-95% pulegone) selected from pulegone, piperitenone, isopiperitenone, carvenone, cyclocivenone, diosphenol, calahanaenone, compounds having an alpha,beta-unsaturated ketone structure and purified coils consisting essentially of these substances as an active ingredient. The amount of the substance blended is substantially 0.001-5.0wt.%, preferably 0.1-3.0wt.% in a base of hair tonic. |
