Hydrocolloid application system with an injection syringe as a vessel in which the hydrocolloid impression material is transported and stored before use. The syringe has a transparent tube in which the hydrocolloid material is filled. A piston is displaceably arranged in the tube and can force the hydrocolloid material through a discharge opening out of the tube. The piston form an air- and water-tight closure for the tube, while a cap that is attached to the discharge opening of the tube also forms an air- and water-tight closure. The tube, the piston and the cap in toto can be put into boiling water without water coming into contact with the hydrocolloid impression material. In use, the cap is removed and a nozzle arrangement is fitted onto the tube in order to facilitate dispensing of the hydrocolloid impression material at a desired site. |
