PURPOSE:To facilitate the insertion of a printing card, by mounting a rotatable shaft on the upper part of a printing head. CONSTITUTION:A printing card guide shaft 4 having a cross section shaped in star, angle, or knurl form is rotatably installed so that the projected part horizontally blocks the path of a printing card 5 and catches the upper end of an ink ribbon 3 vertically downwards. When the printing card 5 is inserted, the lower end of the printing card 5 abuts on the projected part of the guide shaft 4. By further pushing down the card 5, the guide shaft 4 starts rotating. By the rotation, the upper end of the ink ribbon 3 is made close to a printing head 1, and the card 5 is made close to a platen 2. In this manner, the collision of the lower end of the card 5 with the upper end of the ribbon 3 can be avoided, thus resulting in the smooth insertion of the card 5. Since the guide shaft 4 covers over the full width of the head 1, the card 5 abuts on the straight line part of the guide shaft 4 to be directionally corrected and inserted straight if being inserted inclinedly. |
