PURPOSE: To obtain an antiseptic irrigation solution capable of preventing and treating infections caused a wide range of bacteria and other microorganisms, containing iodine and glycol in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION: This solution contains 0.0002-7wt.% of iodine (preferably in the form of a diluted solution of ugol's solution) and 1-40wt.%, especially 20wt.% of glycol and is useful for treating intraabdominal infections. Iodine in high concentration in a solution can be used without damage to tissue by the addition of glycol and tendency to bring iodine in an irrigation into contact with a wall face and to remain after the drain of most of douche is produced. A region to be treated can be anesthetized by further adding 1wt.% of pyridium to the solution. |
