Device allowing both the inlet of air and the channelling of rainwater penetrating into the scuttle box structure of a motor vehicle. This device is composed of a duct 4 contained inside the scuttle box structure 1 downstream of an opening 5 extending between the bonnet 2 of the vehicle and the edge of the windscreen 9, at least over the entire length of the opening 5, overhanging the elements to be protected, such as the air inlet opening 6. The side wall 17 of the duct is furthermore provided, in its upper part, with a grid 18 allowing the inlet of external air to the scuttle box structure in order to supply, through the opening 6, the air-conditioning circuit of the passenger compartment. <IMAGE>
