A sealing ring 1 formed of a piece of elastic material for sealing between a bulb-holder 3 and the glass 15' of a light-bulb 15 fitted therein, has two axially backward- facing coaxial, sleeve-shaped extensions 2,8 which are arranged to hold between them and to seal the front end of the bulb-holder 3, and an axially forward-facing sleeve-shaped body 14 with an internal sealing surface 16 arranged to form a collar around and a seal with the glass of the light-bulb. The body 14 has a wall thickness tapering towards the front in such a way that at the front end of the body the walls are shaped like a point in longitudinal section. The sealing surface 16 has at its rear end a curved transition 17 to the inner surface 18 of the internal extension 8, which transition forms a ring-shaped inner bottom surface to form a seal with the glass 15' of the light-bulb 15. The inner extension 8 is so shaped that when the light-bulb 15 is fitted in the bulb-holder 3 by means of the pressure of the glass 15' against the bottom surface 17 it is pressed both axially backwards and radially outwards to form a seal with the front end 13 of an inner screw thread 12 in the bulb- holder and with the front inner surface 7 of the bulb- holder facing forwards and outwards at an angle. <IMAGE> |
