PURPOSE:To improve the prediction accuracy of lifetime deterioration by applying the constitution wherein one specific cell has an allowance for lifetime, compared with other cells, and a voltage detecting terminal is fitted to the specific cell. CONSTITUTION:Element constitution for one specific cell (long-life cell) of a storage battery comprising a plurality of cells, or one of the composition and weight of an active substance, and a grid and an electrolyte or a given combination thereof is so set as to have a longer lifetime than the average lifetime of ordinary cells. And, for example, a potential difference between the ordinary cells and the longer lifetime cell at the time of an engine start is always monitored and a lifetime deterioration alarm is generated, when the potential difference becomes equal to or above the predetermined value. According to the aforesaid construction, it is possible to detect lifetime deterioration precisely before the occurrence of a trouble such as engine start incapability and and an engine stop during running. |
