PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute high-definition printing by judging the data class of intermediate language data and executing a plotting processing mode control while reducing printing information pressing a memory resources to secure the plotting processing of a band unit as mach as possible. SOLUTION: CPU 11 analyzes printing information according to a prescribed page description language inputted from a host computer 1 through a prescribed communication medium by executing a control program stored in programming ROM 6 for a program or in an external memory and judges the classy of data. Whether the total amount of each intermediate language data obtained by converting printing information into different intermediate language data exceeds or not the capacity set to managing RAM 7 is judged by each class of data judged by CPU 11. Thereby a plotting processing mode by means of a hard renderer 8 is switch-controlled to plot an intermediate language to printing data in an optimum plotting processing mode while generating intermediate language data of different data quantity corresponding to the data class of printing information.
